How to get your game on Steam
Easier than you might expect
Getting your project into the hands of the public is every game developer’s dream. However, for many, it can be a scary and daunting process. When I selected PC and Mac as the launch platforms for Indy Pro ’22: Rebirth of the Territories, I knew Steam was my delivery method of choice. I don’t want to deal with cumbersome DRM, sales, and everything that goes along with selling the game on my own, so I never questioned that Steam would be my delivery platform. But, like many in my shoes, I had no clue how to get it there.
The theory is that having your game available on the store before release to be added to users’ wish lists or even Early Access (if you go that route) will allow you to build an audience for your game’s release and increase your sales. This article will help you get there and hopefully answer several questions.
